A clearer path through LearnFree.ca
Clearer enrolment steps, a refreshed Programs page and practical account guidance make it easier to find your next step with Agate.
We’ve made a few more changes to LearnFree.ca to help you find the information you need and explore what comes next. Whether you are getting to know Agate or already part of the school, here is what to look for.
A clearer route to enrolment
The enrolment page now brings the steps together: explore the school, ask questions, apply and plan your next steps. After reviewing an application, Agate contacts parents to arrange the first mentoring appointment and discuss payment arrangements.
A separate school fees and optional services page makes it easier to compare costs. E-transfer, card payment and instalment options can be discussed directly with Agate.
More ways to follow your interests
Our refreshed Programs page separates resources available through Agate from independent providers and ideas still in development. It includes school Microsoft accounts, Khan Academy, Minecraft Education, Autodesk tools and Master Chess Online, alongside resources such as MIT OpenCourseWare, edX and Coursera.
These are starting points. Learners are free to follow any learning path they choose, including their own projects and resources they find elsewhere. Those experiences can be documented in their learner portfolios.
Practical information, in one place
We’ve clarified how Agate supports independent learners, with optional curriculum guidance and help finding resources and like-minded families. Agate has no central campus or physical classrooms; our role is to facilitate learning and provide practical support.
The School FAQ answers common questions, while our account setup and recovery guide explains parent website accounts and school-issued learner Microsoft accounts. Creating a website account is separate from enrolling in Agate.
