This is a space to talk about your questions, recognise the learning already happening and consider practical next steps that fit your circumstances.

Your consultation begins with the person, rather than a prescribed curriculum. Gayle’s approach values lived experience and focuses on strengths, curiosity, agency and higher-order thinking.

Parents, families, independent learners and prospective post-secondary students are welcome. You do not need to enrol with Agate to book a consultation.

• Finding a learning path: exploring homeschooling, self-directed education and alternatives to conventional schooling.
• Recognising learning: making sense of the skills and understanding developed through projects, interests, work and everyday life.
• Documenting experience: considering how to describe and organise learning in a portfolio.
• Planning for post-secondary: exploring possible pathways, questions for admissions departments and whether Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) may be relevant.

We’ll focus on the questions that matter most to you. A brief written summary of recommendations gives you something concrete to refer to afterwards. Any formal assessment or separate service can be discussed if needed.
